Guys and Dolls

Guys and Dolls - 2009 Broadway Musical Revival
2009 Broadway Revival Cast

Guys and Dolls- a musical, with the music and lyrics written by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows It is based on "The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown" and "Blood Pressure" which are two short stories by Damon Runyon. It also borrows characters and plot elements from other Runyon stories, like "Pick the Winner". Nathan Detroit, who organizes a floating crap game all over NYC, bets Sky Masterson that he can't make Miss Sarah Brown of the Save-a-Soul Mission go on a date with him. Meanwhile, Nathan's long time girlfriend, and the main attraction at the Hot Box nightclub - Miss Adelaide, only wants to get married and seems to have a perpetual "cold" because of the lack of his commitment. Guys and Dolls is full of laughs and love with the most unlikely of couples. Guys and Dolls originally  ran for 1,200 performances and won the Tony Award for Best Musical, and has had several Broadway revivals as well as several West End productions.
