Mamma Mia!

Mamma Mia! - The Broadway Musical
Mamma Mia! is a  musical about a young girl, Sophie who is about to marry but wants her father (whom she's never met) to walk her down the aisle. What ensues is a fun musical journey with her free spirited mother and three men who could be the lucky dad.

The book is by British playwright Catherine Johnson, based on the songs of ABBA, a chart-topping Swedish band from the 70's and 80's. It is composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. It is an early example of what we now call "the jukebox musical" genre and helped to popularize the form. The title of the musical is taken from the group's 1975 chart-topper Mamma Mia, but the plot is fictional, not biographical.
